Upcoming Programs:

Consortium Program

Anne Fox wrote a successful grant request to ACRL for funding of a program on consortia.  The group discussed the issues and outlined the following:

  • What are we doing and what could we be doing?

  • How do you consolidate efforts - take the many small partnerships and make into a large one?

  • Need to look at various models

  • Need to look at models outside of Oregon

  • Consider the WLN/OCLC issue

  • Securing political resources, both legislative and institutional

Possible resources include the consultant's report to the five State Libraries and OhioLink. Rather than attempt this issue at the annual OLA Conference, a planning group of Anne Fox, Ernest, Lynda and Anne Christie will convene. This is a possible topic for Menucha if we can extend the funding. Anne Fox will check.

Menucha 2000
