18.01

ARTICLE I NAME

18.011

The name of this organization shall be the Documents Interest Group of Oregon (DIGOr) operating as a round table of the Oregon Library Association (OLA).

18.02

ARTICLE II OBJECTIVES

18.021

The objectives of DIGOr are to provide opportunities for communication, education and cooperation among the government information library community, and to improve access to government information by all.

18.03

ARTICLE III MEMBERSHIP AND DUES

18.031

All OLA members interested in the use of, or access to governmental information are eligible for membership in DIGOr.

18.032

Each member shall be entitled to one vote.

18.033

Each member shall pay $5.00 per year.

18.04

ARTICLE IV OFFICERS & GOVERNANCE

18.041

The officers of this organization shall be a Chairperson, a Vice-Chairperson/Chairperson-elect, a Secretary/Treasurer and an Immediate Past Chairperson. These officers shall constitute the Officers' Council.

18.042

Officers shall serve one-year terms, beginning September 1.

18.043

Elections shall beheld at the annual business meeting. The Nominating Committee appointed by the Officers' Council will select the slate of candidates. Write-in votes will be permitted.

18.044

Standing or special committees may be established by the Officers' Council or the membership as appropriate.

18.045

The Officers' Council may appoint a newsletter editor.

18.05

ARTICLE V MEETINGS

18.051

The DIGOr year shall correspond to the OLA fiscal year.

18.052

The annual business meeting shall be held at the annual conference of OLA.

18.053

Other meetings or programs shall be called by the Officers' Council. At least two program meetings shall be held each year.

18.06

AMENDMENTS

18.061

Amendments to these by-laws shall be proposed in writing by the Officers' Council or by petition signed by five (5) members.

18.062

These by-laws may be amended by a simple majority vote of the members present at the any business meeting provided the proposed amendment have been distributed to each member at least three (3) weeks prior to the meeting. Amendments must be approved by the OLA Executive Board.

18.07

ENABLING ARTICLE

18.071

These by-laws shall be adopted when approved by a majority vote of the Documents Interest Group pf Oregon and the Executive Board of the Oregon Library Association.
