Library Development and Legislation Committee

OLA's Library Development and Legislation Committee (LDLC) is a standing committee that exists to:

  • Establish plans for improvement of libraries in Oregon through study and recommendation of plans for the use of state and federal funds, as well as through exploration of other sources of funding (e.g., foundation grants)
  • Establish priorities for legislative action which may affect all types of libraries in Oregon

HB 4092A PASSED: Creation of a state e-rate fund for libraries

The Oregon legislature recently voted to approve HB 4092A and establish the Connecting Oregon Libraries Fund!

Thank your legislator for voting to support Oregon libraries

The Connecting Oregon Libraries Fund maximizes broadband funding for libraries from the FCC's E-Rate program and establishes an Oregon E-Rate fund to provide additional funding to help libraries move forward on critically needed broadband infrastructure projects. Establishing a state E-Rate fund in Oregon is also the first step to securing up to 10% in extra Federal funds for projects that meet certain criteria.
