Requirements:
Must be a member of OLA/Academic Division (ACRL-Oregon)
Term:
Serves a two year term
Duties:
- Facilitates knowledge of and involvement in local, state and federal public policy issues for the ACRL-OR Board and its membership
- Serves as an ex-officio member of the OLA Library Development and Legislative Committee
- Liaison to ACRL National Legislative Network
- Monitors OLA's Legislative Agenda
- Monitors ACRL National's Washington Watch
- Represent academic librarians at ALA Legislative Day as part of the Oregon contingent
- Distributes notices to ACRL-OR membership, via the Chapter's email list and/or blog, regarding legislative issues affecting college and research libraries and higher education generally
- Advises ACRL-OR Board on legislative issues
- Provides an annual report to the ACRL-Oregon President

Optionally, concurrently or subsequently, the Legislative Representative may wish to apply to be an ACRL Legislative Advocate
